This was a bit of a family re-union on the Lieske side.
Attendees: Steve and Sandy (from Idaho), Sandy's sister Lynn, husband Dan and their son (from Madison). Also, Mickey Lieske and girlfriend Allie (from Oshkosh), Lorri and Keith (locals!), Kathryn, Jake and myself.
We all missed seeing Diane, who had planned to come for the game, but Sara came down with a bad flu so she decided to stay with her.
Miller Park is a great venue. The roof came in very useful as it was rainy and cold outside. Mickey got us tickets in the left field bleachers which is a pretty good view (Thanks Mickey!).
They were playing the cubs in the final game of a three game home stand. The series was split 1-1 coming into the game.
As always with Cubs games at Miller Park, half the fans were Cubs fans. Steve warned me to not show up with any Cub gear on (or he would break my other wrist)! Kathryn and I ,of course, are still loyal to our Brewers and came with our Brewer gear on.
Game recap:
The Brewers scored first with a Yelich 2 run homer in the first. They scored another run in the 3rd and another in the fourth to lead 4-0 going into the top of the sixth. Cubs scored 2 in the top of the sixth to get it close again. Cousins (mgr) brought in their star closer, Josh Hader, in the seventh inning and dominated the cubs batters after that with the final 4-2 Brewers. Zach Davies got the win, Hendricks the loss and Hader the save. A fun game to watch.
Here are a few pictures, thanks to Lorri, from the game.
Dinner after the game but, Me, Kathryn and Jake had to head back home after the game and missed dinner.
